Feel free to comment or post links to interesting websites, info about whats happening in the world, or just to say “HI”. I hope you all have a great summer…thank you for a great year!
Hey Mr. Hostetler! I told you i’d get on here during the summer. =]
Constitution Court is leaving for Wahington DC tomorrow (or I guess I should say today). I think Mrs. Robinson even scored us passes for the White House tour and a military parade. I’m even more excited for this than usual because, this sounds really nerdy but I watched a documentary on the history channel that was about the history of the white house like last week. lol. and there was another one about how George Washington had a son, West Ford. The facts were a little twisted so I doubt that it’s true. But it’s still pretty interesting. lol.
Anyway I hope everything is going well. When’s the baby due? And i’m sorry about making your phone go off in the middle of the night because of this post. =]
I thought for sure that those of you who said you wanted to do this during the summer were not serious, or at least would forget even if you had intentions of getting on here!!
I am sure you will have a great time in D.C….take lots of pictures for us!! And let me know how it goes when you return! I have to say, I’m not that “aware” of the story of Washington’s son. Maybe a tour guide or museum official would know, I always worry that TV documentaries twist the story in a way that misleads us but usually the history channel is pretty good, and NO you are not a nerd for watching the History channel and then posting to a class blog in the middle of the night in the summer…LOL although it does sort of sound that way, it’s NOT the case!
Baby is due July 25 and I have class through July 15 so I am really hoping he does not come too early. I guess as long as he is healthy I don’t care when he comes, we had our baby shower this past Sunday and I had know idea a little person needed so much “stuff”.
Have a great time and hopefully you see some “important” people. We want to hear all about it when you get back, or during if you have computer access.
I really don’t have any government type stuff to say. I just remembered I said I’d comment on here over the summer so here I am!
I was really psyched to do this during the summer but June was such a crazy month. My mom got married June 27th so the entire month was about getting ready for that.
Aww I’m so excited for you about the baby! Do you have names picked out yet? And yes, babies do need a lot of “stuff”
Anyway I hope your having a great summer and doing well in your classes and stuff like that. I wonder if this post will make your phone buzz during class…BUZZ BUZZ
LOL! yes, my phone did buzz during class…no one noticed though. Sounds like you have been very busy so far this summer! I hope you take time to relax. Any vacations planned?
We are excited for the baby too…only a couple more weeks at most. My wife is ready for him to arrive I think! We have settled on “Carter” as his name, but reserve the right to change it if he looks nothing like a Carter, whatever that means? We finally have all the “stuff” we need, which is good, now we just wait!
Classes are going great for me at KSU, but I’m taking two right now and trying make sure I get everything finished in time for the baby so I can spend a few weeks with him before having to go back to school.
I bet you are excited for senior year!!
Keep posting…I think it’s fun, but I’m a little dorky
haha and i guess i’m like katie. posting in the middle of the night. but hey i got off work like an hour ago and am still wiredddd after a pretty fun night with walters and all them haha.
yeah work is pretty insane! idk if u heard bout it, but a friend of mine from work, jacob bahler? http://www.cantonrep.com/homepage/x135716019/Good-Samaritan-two-others-injured-in-Paris-Avenue-crash thats the story. its weird, he got hit by a lady that works on our day shift and dan stanley who works with us was the one that saw the whole thing. dunno how he’s doing right now, better but still cmpletely screwed up! its been an odd summer, let me tell you1!!!
anyways keep him in ur prayers or what not.
First, what jobs do “y’all” have that you are getting home at 12:00am (give or take)?
Second, that story is shocking and even weirder (if that’s a word) is the extent to which your colleagues at work are involved. I think its really interesting the way the blog portion of the online story is being used to clarify, send sympathy and well wishes, criticize, and solicit information. I do hope your friend is ok…keep us posted.
Hope your summer gets better J.E….back to school prep starts soon!!!
Psssssh Julie that has nothing to do with government… but then again, i dont have much to say about gov. either. Haha! But on a more serious note, that is so crazy. something that you imagine would only happen on a tv show. ya know?
Anyway, I’ve always been a fan of irony, and so i’d like to say that i find it very ironic that you, mr. h, are getting texted during class from your former students, and you were our teacher, and there have been times where we students texted in YOUR class. (i know, we’re bad… lol).
Good luck with the baby and everything! Have a nice (rest of the) summer!
Unfortunately there are no vacations planned for this year. I just started band practice yesterday so band=life for quite a few months.
Aww, I like Carter. It’s almost time! I love babies. I tried to convince my mom and her new husband to have one but that didn’t go over really well lol.
Good point about the texting, Ang. That made me laugh
So, Mr. H, I have a question. I’m filling out job applications and I was wondering if I could put you down as an education reference?? If so all I need is your number. Thanks!
I wanted to know people’s opinions on Proposition 8 that rescinded the rights of same sex couples to get married in California. I’ve heard this topic discussed among adults and I wanted to know my peers’ thoughts.
This video perfectly sums up how I feel about Prop 8 and gay marriage in general.
I agree that marraige is civil right and that government shouldn’t be allowed to determine who can marry and who can’t. I have a hard time understanding social conservatives who say gay couples marrying harms them in any sort of way. Not only is this a civil right, but there are many fringe benefits to being married (ie filing a joint tax return, social security, etc.).
On a side note, I’m sure Mr. Hostetler would be suprised to learn that I started watching Countdown a month ago and switch between Oreilly and him and that I also joined the Mahoning Country Young Dems through one of the Boys State colleagues….what an interesting summer it was.

Wow!! I’m so impressed, with so many things…

Something government related!
